We are passionate supporters of the apprenticeship programme, with several members of our staff having successfully taken their first career steps into the profession through the very valuable and effective apprenticeship scheme.

Become an integral part of our friendly team and develop important skills including:
2D & 3D CAD drafting (using Vectorworks)
3D CAD modelling (using Sketchup & Vectorworks)
3D CGI’s / visualisations (using rendering software & Adobe Photoshop)
Assisting with preparing documents (using Word)
Assisting with preparing reports, (using InDesign)
Accompanying senior staff on site visits & meetings
Assisting more senior staff with measured surveys
Taking notes at meetings then writing up for distribution
Copying & scanning documents
Assisting with making 3D card models
Some hand sketching

Opportunity for a part-qualified architect
PMA has an opportunity career in architecture for a Part 1 qualified architectural assistant looking who are looking to develop their career whilst working towards their Part 2 qualification as an architect whilst working in practice. If you are enthusiastic, driven and enjoy working as part of a friendly professional team come and join our practice, near the fabulous coast, in Barnstaple North Devon.

We are looking for someone to contribute, with enthusiasm to:generate high-impact innovative ideas, consider and introduce new approaches
assist in the preparation of architectural design proposals and presentations throughout all stages
with a director / architect.
meet clients / construction professionals to discuss project objectives, budget & feasibility designs.
prepare meeting schedules, agendas and minutes as required.
assist in reviewing local rules & regs to ensure the construction project falls within all constraints
assist in the creation detailed drawings, schedules and specifications for varied projects
use the computer-aided design software to create blueprints and images
assist contractors, surveyors, engineers & design team with viable & deliverable design & solutions
visit locations and building sites, as required
assist in the resolution of issues during the construction process
participate in design reviews
add to our team in your individual way through you approach, skills and expertise
Requirements:
an interest in design
outstanding communication and organisational skills, a positive approach, able to work under pressure
attention to detail
skilled in hand drawing
expertise in Vectorworks, Sketch-up, Adobe Photoshop and Indesign
excellent rendering skills (ie. Enscape or V-ray)
Salary: competitive, dependent on experience.
